The Ferret

A woman can keel over. Literally. She could just roll over and never get up and people will be left asking what happened.

We had our photo shoot today. Everyone posed for pictures with their best outfits. I wasn’t motivated for three reasons. Firstly, I don’t think there was anything spectacular about my designs so far. They were just rudimentary stuff, what we learnt in class. Secondly, I had an attack of acne last week that has scarred my face with spots like holes on a cheese. Thirdly, I only did it to motivate my teacher because left for me I would rather have had models do the modeling.  Honestly I haven’t been too enthusiastic about sewing for myself. It’s boring.

I’ve been terribly busy… no time to even do the blog rounds. M has been around for about a week now, but thats not really why I’ve been busy. My sister in law’s sister is getting married next week and she dropped some clothes off for me to sew. I’ve been buying the materials for it… gonna start working on it tomorrow. Hopefully to finish by tuesday ‘cuz I told her they’ll be ready on that day.

There’s soooo much for me to do, I don’t even know where to begin. And the worst part of it… or should this be the best part, is I got offered to write for a new parenting magazine thats going to launch in January. I’m thinking just when I put my writing career on the back burner to focus on fashion I get the opportunity to have my works published.

Today I submitted some of my write ups and my short story and they really liked it. It feels good to a writer when your reader laughs in all the right places.

I’m so happy, I know 2008 is going to be a great year for me. A year of change, of hope, of charting new territories. In case I’m too busy to check back in, I wish everyone Happy New Year!
